What to Say When Proposing in Front of a Crowd

What to Say When Proposing in Front of a Crowd
If you already know that your love will say yes, then proposing in front of others, whether it’s strangers in a restaurant or family and friends, makes it memorable. What do you say to this person you want to spend the rest of your life with, though, with all those people watching you?
Make it Personal
It’s a marriage proposal, so it doesn’t get more personal than that but it’s easy to get tongue-tied. Not only are you asking the biggest question of your life but you are doing it in front of the crowd. Stick with the obvious:
Say the name of your partner. Don’t look around when you do it. There’s only one place your eyes should be and that’s staring into the eyes of the person you love.
State the obvious: I love you. Add some flair to it if it fits like:
●     ... to the moon and back.
●     ... more than my sports car and you know how much I love my sports car
Change it up based on your location. For instance, if you propose at the planetarium, then a moon reference makes sense.
Say Why You are Meant for Each Other
This can be as open and unhindered as you want, but be honest. Someone who knows you this well can tell if you are not speaking from your heart.
●     I knew the minute I met you in that coffee shop that this was special.
●     You make me a better person.
●     You inspire me and I think I inspire you, as well.
Now, Bring it Home
The wrap up should be something that clarifies the situation just in case there is any confusion for your partner or the crowd. It’s a good time to pull out your ring from Padis Jewelry, too.
●     I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
●     I can’t imagine life without you.
●     We need to grow old together.
Finally, Don’t Forget to Ask the Question
You are not done until you ask that important question.
●     Will you marry me?
●     Will you do me the honor…
Practice what you are going to say but don’t go overboard. You want it to feel natural. Once the yes comes, embrace and wait for the cheers.
