In the annual Best of the Bay Area program from SFGATE, Padis captured the 2025 crown for Best Jewelry Store. Community participation ballooned in 2025: 156,000 votes were logged across all categories, up from roughly 142,000 last years—proof that locals are doubling-down on hometown favorites.
Over 50 years, still a family-run jewelry store
For the Padis family, the repeat win lands during another milestone: 51 years in business. What began in 1974 as Steve Padis stringing beads on Telegraph Avenue has grown into five showrooms, each stocked with thousands of responsibly sourced natural and lab-grown diamonds that the Padis family still personally hand-selects.
“Every guest who walks through our doors should feel like they’re a part of our family,” says Alexis Padis, company president. “Winning this award another year running tells us that spirit continues to resonate.”

- Outstanding inventory. Unlike online jewelers and many brick and mortar stores, Padis own the inventory and has a terrific volume of diamonds and settings so that visitors can easily walk out of the showroom with a finished piece the same day, if they so choose.
