On August 2, 1971, a Bulova chronograph accompanied the Apollo 15 mission to the lunar surface, engineered to withstand the unforgiving conditions of space. Today, Bulova honors that achievement with the Lunar Pilot chronograph from the Archive Series, faithfully recreating the iconic design and elevating it with modern technology. The 43.5mm silver-tone stainless steel case retains its vintage profile with slim chronograph pushers and a signed crown at 3 o’clock, framed by a flat sapphire crystal for exceptional clarity. Beneath it, the deep black dial evokes the vastness of space, accented by a tachymeter scale, retro Bulova logo, and luminous hands and markers for perfect legibility. Powered by Bulova’s proprietary 262kHz high precision quartz movement—offering accuracy to seconds per year—the watch includes three recessed sub-dials for 1/20-second timing, running seconds, and a 60-minute chronograph counter. A matching 3-link stainless steel bracelet with deployant clasp and a quick-release NATO leather strap complete the set, allowing effortless transitions from heritage tribute to modern adventure.
